Goa is a state in the south west of India, whose beaches have an international reputation as terrestrial paradises, and have attracted tens of thousands of tourists, from all countries and origin, since the hippies in the 60s, who arrived in a truck from Europe, and never returned home, even the lovers who go on honeymoon, or backpackers who stop at the beaches to rest a few days before continuing their adventures around the country. It is known for the most fashionable beaches, those that are seen in the movies, are at the center of the region!
Anjuna
This is the place to party in South India. With several clubs that attract international artists, Anjuna breathes an atmosphere between hippie and Ibiza and in its scene highlights the Sunburn festival, held on Christmas and for several days’ floods electronic rhythms in the area of Anjuna and Vagator. The counterpart is that prices skyrocket during this time. Anjuna is a place to party in South India. This is another of the best beaches in Goa with several clubs, international artists, and activities. In Anjuna, we will notice an atmosphere between hippies and Ibiza.
Cola Beach
If we seek tranquility, the best in the south of Goa! It is less crowded and the type of tourism is more sedate. A few minutes from the most popular, Agoda, hidden in a forest of palm trees, is Cola, idyllic enclave with a lagoon where you can swim and that ends at the beach. It is not easy to find since it is little known and, in addition, the last two kilometers are made by an unpaved road. This relative isolation makes it a paradise for those seeking tranquility and escapes from invasive tourism. There are cabins that can be rented and to spend the night next to the Arabian Sea.
Galgibag
Also called Galgibada, it is the most natural beach on the southern tip of Goa and has remained safe from mass tourism. The reason is the great environmental protection it enjoys as a place where turtles nest. If we arrive in the area between October and March, we will have the opportunity to see the nests and even watch the hatching of the eggs and see how the little turtles start their life cycle walking for the first time towards the sea. The few establishments in the area offer menus based on delicious fish and seafood at a great price.
Bogmalo and The Cape Of Rama
The longest beach in Goa, which seems to have no end, extends uninterruptedly along about 25 kilometers. When the tide comes down, the sand is hard and perfect for cycling, which can be rented in any corner of the area. Of course, we must be attentive to the sea because when the tide returns to rise circular dry sand is practically impossible and touch back on inland roads.
When the tide comes down the sand is hard and it is the perfect place if you want to travel by bicycle. Bicycles are rented in many places in the vicinity, although you have to be careful that the tide does not rise quickly.
