The North American state of Mexico was devastated recently by a7.1 magnitude Earthquake resulting in a massive loss of life and other amenities. The boisterous shock has, according to an estimate, killed at least 225 people. Nearly half of these have been reported to occur in the capital city of the country. In retrospect, the land of Mexico has witnessed an earthquake of such mammoth intensity after a period of 32 years to the day. After the devastating 1985 quake, the country has experienced a resembling scenario whereby the whole nation was greatly affected.
Luis Felipe Puente, head of Mexico’s national civil defense agency, had posted a tweet stating that the fact that over 94 people are known to be dead in the capital, Mexico City. Furthermore, 71dead in Morelos state; 43 dead in Puebla; 12 dead in the State of Mexico; 4 dead in Guerrero; and 1 in Oaxaca. The situation is in shambles at the moment; people are looking towards the governmental authorities to step in and try to make up for this massive loss. Sources have stated that over 40 buildings have completely collapsed in Mexico City. Moreover, thousands of other buildings have been left damaged and unstable.
The president of the country has declared three days of national mourning for the people who have been ousted from their homes, accessories, and especially loved ones. On the other hand, the process of the influx of aid has commenced from the major countries of the world including the United States of America. Donald Trump had called and offered all of this condolence to the Mexican President. Lastly, we would like to give a call out to every human being having concern for humanity.
