Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
It is the home of the orphan elephants that are in Jungle. This orphanage provides them protection and food. National Zoological Garden has taken over it. Department of wildlife takes care of the elephants. They have launched a captive breeding programs. In this way, they provide them a natural habitat. These volunteers and mahouts feed babies on bottles and they take these elephants to river for a bath. The administration gives around green matter of about 76 kg and maize, rice bran of about 2 kg to all elephants. You can view all these elephants when they are taking a bath in the pond. The mission behind this orphanage is to provide protection and care to these animals.
Horton Plains National Park
Enjoy a scenic train ride and explore a real beauty in the diverse plains in National park. You will love the rich flora and biodiversity of the park here. It is a wonderful area that offers many things to discover. The majority of the people come here for hiking because it offers beautiful end viewpoints and have a look on Baker Falls.
