The Heavy Storm hits Buenos Aires, Argentina

In the morning hours of 29th April, heavy rains hit Buenos Aires, the province of Argentine, followed by immense destruction’s of infrastructure that badly affected normal life of inhabitants. Owing to the continued rain which led to flooding, two people were, reportedly, killed and approximately, 1200 people evacuated from their respective homes. Around 0.1 million residents remained vulnerable to power outages. The city of Buenos Aires, due to flooding, witnessed both of its airports and highways came under huge damage that hindered its smooth functioning. But services were returned to the normal shape by the day of 30th April across the province of Buenos Aires. Some of the areas that were hit by drastic storm recorded rainfall were 110mm and dangerous wind gusts of around 130km/h. These fierce winds have been causing huge evacuations as it had potential to damaged homes, dismantled power wires, and led to the infrastructural driven losses.

According to the local media reports, the areas badly stuck by the storm that lies outside the city of Buenos consist: Bolivar, General Rodriguez, and others. Consequently, the much-needed alerts and precautionary measures were issued on the part of the national weather service SMN for many parts of the provinces named: Santa Fe, Cordoba, and more rain are forecasted for Buenos Aires. And it was reported that flooding is highly likely until 7th of May.

The people of the above-mentioned areas have been requested to comply with the instructions of the weather forecast and local authorities in order to eliminate the possibilities of further damage and loss. For an instance, it was advised not to drive or walk through running water as it may have wastewater and chemical material. In an attempt to reduce losses and damage, urgent evacuations process is being implemented and people are made to move towards safer places.
